KAIO –
We have created various animated videos for the Office for Informatics and Organisation of the Canton of Bern (KAIO), the competence center for the implementation of digitisation in the cantonal administration.
In order to present the complex digital topic in a somewhat simplified way, we worked with a simple graphic style and strong symbolic images. The employer «Canton Bern», for example, is represented as a large, friendly bear. The data, which is the focus of the videos, becomes different shapes in the animated spot that can have different colors and sizes.
The use of these symbolic figures and shapes gives the videos a certain lightness and a bit of humor. Nevertheless, the content remains clearly understandable.
The bear, symbolic of the Canton of Bern, stands in front of a large mountain of data. This representation is intended to illustrate the increasing amount of data and the associated complexity of data management.
Data can be shown not only in a very small way, but also in a larger context. Here, for example, the topic of Open Government Data is presented – data from public administrations that is made accessible to the general public.
